WOW Wyoming.
We stayed in Cody last night. Wyoming. At a ranch. I was going to skip talking about Cody and therefore Wyoming, but they have deemed themselves worthy of comment.
Firstly, we never did see a grizzly in Yellowstone. Turns out we could see one between the Dairy Queen shop and Buffalo Bill’s Irma Hotel and Restaurant. Right there in Cody town. Apparently they couldn’t catch the bugger.
We went bear spotting, but he was nowhere to be found, probably having a nana nap. It’s pretty exhausting being a grizzly on the run.
He had been caught before so knew his stuff.
We found out the grizzly goss from our hosts at the Apple Jack Ranch.
They also told us that they had inadvertently built their place on the rattle snake migration trail. The rattlers migrate in a straight line. Glad they didn’t share that info last night or there would have been no sleep. As it was I felt sure I had heard a click click click during the night.
Danish Johanna, her husband Hunter, and son Hector live in the main house, American Grandma – of the amazing breakfast scone fame – lives in another cabin and they have four cabins set up for visitors. Two dogs, five horses, three untethered, and a donkey complete the family.
We were encouraged to go and give the horses some attention. Didn’t need to. They came up to us, walked up onto the porch and were keen to have an evening cocktail or beer, although to be honest the straw broom held more appeal.

This a.m. we headed off towards South Dakota. And on the way we had to go through Big Horn National Forest.
WOW. Word of the day.

And Devil’s Tower. Double WOW Wyoming.

3000 miles so far and probably another 3000 to go. That’s 4800 kilometres or so. Can’t wait to see South Dakota tomorrow.
