Bismarck

Finally found that Grizzly MOD was looking for!

In the Bismarck Zoo…..

Bismarck was founded by European Americans in 1872 on the east bank of the Missouri River.  Originally named “Edwinton” after a man named Edwin L. Johnson, a supporter of the transcontinental railroad, it was changed after a year to Bismarck in honor of Otto von Bismarck, the German chancellor, in an effort to attract German immigrants.  Bismarck has been North Dakota’s capital city ever since it entered into the Union in 1889 and has the tallest building in the state, The North Dakota State Capitol, (a government building).

Saturday was a day of firsts. First Bismarck Street Market, first Corndog, first Cheese Curds, first ‘Taco in a Bag’. They crunch up the Doritos in the bag, open the side out, add the usual taco mix, throw a fork at you and hey presto! you have a meal in a bag. Watch out kids, next time you come over for a meal, I’m throwing a dorito bag at you.
