Wedding Day!

Twas a beautiful sunny day for a winter wedding.

In the morning we headed off to the venue, the rental car and Lori’s car loaded up with all the ‘goods’.

The wedding was upstairs at ‘The Loft’ in downtown Stillwater.

A really gorgeous venue.

Both the ceremony and the reception were to be conducted in the same room. Post ceremony, chairs would be moved, tables set and moved across.

As previously warned, I decided to wear a little party dress I had bought in Las Vegas some 11 years ago. I have never worn it. One would say entirely inappropriate for someone my age….more something for a 6 year old…..oh well. I have never acted my age and I am certainly not going to start now.

The ceremony, as you would expect was a beautiful tear jerker.

Kaia’s cousin Betsy was the officiant, making it, along with the bride and grooms words, such a personal, warm and loving service.

MoD and I may have had a sudden dose of watery eyes. It’s all this travel you know.

Although seriously, my skin and eyes are so damn dry from being inside so much.

Oh wait, that doesn’t account for the tears.

No definitely winter hay fever.

Mind you, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Kaia walked down the aisle accompanied by her mum Susan and dad David.

And what a beautiful bride.

Yep, we always say that, but it was once again absolutely true.

And to be fair, the groom wasn’t too shabby either.

Handsome devil.

The wedding party colour was a deep green.

Stunning.

We of course were on the grooms side and had a good view of all those handsome groomsmen.

Mac, as promised did not wear his hat although I could see those rebel socks poking out.

I took a LOT of photos during the night, always in the hope of getting one good one with the old iPhone 12.

I wasn’t going to post photos but given the wedding party has already posted some on ‘The Book’, here they are. And I did get the brides permission. So kind 👏

And here are the brothers three, their wives (I’m one of them Yay!) together for the first time in about ten years.

After a big meal, cake for dessert and maybe a scoffing of more than one of the caramel popcorn bags which were on the tables (yeah I did a sweep of other tables) – it was time for the bride and groom dances.

More tears….

Being the good spotters you are my avid twelve readers, you would have already reviewed those photos above.

The DJ happened to be fabulous, unlike our recent wedding, although he did not play either of my requests.

Love Is In The Air – John Paul Young.

I Got The Feeling – JT.

Maybe he doesn’t know who Justin Timberlake is?? 😜

Those who know MoD and I would not be surprised to hear we hit the dance floor once that first note started and didn’t stop. Except for that stupid hip hop techno crap…..or whatever it’s called.

Who requested that? I mean seriously…..

My poor bilateral bunions.

I got a message during the night from my besties son to ask how the bunion twins were going (he is a Podiatrist). I could safely tell him that they were ok because as we are all aware, vodka is a known antidote.

At precisely 10.55 and 28 seconds the last song commenced.

Which happened to be an Aussie song.

Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply.

A fitting end to a fabulous day.

Thank you our American family for gifting us with this experience.

Love you all .

Truly, madly, deeply. ❤️

  1. What a stunning wedding! Everything looked amazing. The bride is almost as tiny as you and she looked beautiful. I loved your 13 year old dress. I’m very jealous that you still fit into it and look pretty damn sexy. MoD did too of course, but then he always does. I noticed the round blocks of wood that were cut perfectly from the tree that had fallen down. They looked great.
