Recovery Day

It was an old folks recovery day today.

A day of eating, drinking, family and football.

Which naturally I did not watch.

Hell I never watched it in Australia so I ain’t watching it here. Except for the Aussie Rules Grand Final. Now that’s a religion and unAustralian if you don’t watch. Mate.

Lori’s family were expected to swing by and because she is hands down the best baker IN THE WORLD, (true story) we had a large (and fancy) selection of decorated cookies and muffins.

And this:

Yummdiddlyumpcious.

Lori is so clever.

As a self proclaimed expert, proclaimed after 4-5 slabs, I can assure you without a shadow of a doubt, that cake was delicious.

There may have also been Mimosas to start the afternoon off.

Surprise guests were the bride and groom.

They popped in for a short hello before heading home for a well earned rest.

Also in attendance, Calen, Lauren and little Inky.

OMG that dog!

The snorting, the slurping, the excitement!!!

Not sure whether Inky really liked me doing all that but I threw her a treat and she tolerated me quite well. She is so cute I just had to find a picture of her so I may have stolen this photo from Lauren’s facebook page….better to ask for forgiveness Lauren?

And of course, the brothers three together again. I had to take another photo or two just to get it right.

I think I did.

Apparently Lori’s family have a tradition of well…..we wouldn’t like to say it out loud….but it may have been a little gambling.

My take anyway.

I mean, you all had to put some cash in the bucket, draw a number and then this gigantus wheel was produced.

As the Australian (outcast) I got the glorious job of spinning that baby.

Alas, my lucky numbers, 2 and 8 did not appear.

Mrs. Papke, of the Seattle Papke’s, took out the honour.

Winners are Grinners eh Lauren.

Good job on number 4.

After supper (yeah that’s Americano for dinner) we were treated to one of Lori’s brother Marlins home made videos.

Each time Marlin has the pleasure of our company 😜 he has treated us to a Marlin home production.

Tonight was no exception.

Enderlin High School Class of ‘73 – high school reunion.

What a treat 👏👏👏

Poor Mitch, he unfortunately had a run out to the rubbish bin scheduled and missed out on most of the video.

Lucky I got a copy eh Mitch?

We can watch later.

Such fun ⭐️

And then it was bedtime.

Goodnight folks.

Tomorrow we head off to Fargo to visit with MoD’s stepmum Sylvia and his stepsister Kelly.

Can’t wait for the morning!

Another adventure.
