Chch welcomes us home…..

It was snowing here this morning. MoD says it’s a ‘light dusting’.

Being a North Dakota native I guess he can say that.

Might be to you MoD, but to me it’s darn well SNOWING!

In the sunshine.

We haven’t had snow in the city area for at least four years. Maybe since 2015.

And yet, when I went out in my girl robe to take photos it didn’t feel cold. It felt like, well, at least 4-5°C. Not 1°C like the weather app is telling me. That would be 33.8°F and 87.8°F for our American Whanau.

Pretty hard to bear when three days ago we came from minimum of 31°C.

But bear it we shall because it’s spring in Christchurch and the daffodils are out!

Once the weather warmed up to at least 7°C, we took the Princess out for a walk to our local park. Well one of them. There she is hiding in the daffodils.

Those damn daffodils are resilient, they will survive any weather.

Spring in Christchurch is pretty special. Harper Avenue will be in full display with it’s line up of Apple Blossom trees. The Botanic Gardens will be covered in beautiful flowers and greenery. I can’t wait to see it when I ride through to work in the morning. Of course, being the fair weather rider I am, I’m just praying that it is at least 3°C when I head off around 7am.ish. Spring should see me removing at least one layer of gloves to ride to work. In my opinion.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say today, I am back at work which is really annoying.

It just takes up time. So inconvenient. Time when I could be sleeping in, lounging around, doing nothing much at all, wasting my days, and writing ‘stuff’.

But it does pay for ‘stuff’. Of which I do appreciate if I am really honest.

Here is a little something I heard on the news this morning.

You may never be as good as you want.

But you can always be better than you are.

Words to live by.
