There is no doubt about it. 

I am a brand snob.

I like my brands and I won’t compromise.

My favourite being Anko.

By K-Mart.

I used to hate K-Mart. Who didn’t? I was such a snob about it all.

The mere thought of going to K-Mart….absolutely not!

You wouldn’t find me dead there.

But somehow a new buyer, intense marketing, new store design and wham!

I was a changed woman.

That place upped it’s game 1000%.

And I couldn’t be happier. 

I am now unashamedly a K-Mart groupie.

It’s an excursion.

A destination. 

If you will.

The reason for my trip today was our grandson.

We have him for the next 2 or so days and I promised him a trip to the toy shop.

Ok, it was a little bit of a bribe to get him to go to bed last night.

Which incidentally worked in case you were wondering. 

On the way to the toy shop of course we stopped in at K-Mart.

Of course.

And picked up this little gem.

Being such an Anko fan I felt for sure all I had to do was pull that contraption out of the box and it would spring into life.

Oh no.

No such luck.

I had to …… gulp……assemble it 😳

Including bloomin stickers.

A totally obscene prospect.

So uncivilised.

Anko. 

You have failed me. 

Having ripped the box with no possibility of return, assemble it I did. 

Took ages.

Stickers are all crooked.

But I must say I am just a little bit proud of myself.

I haven’t assembled anything for a long time.

Since the side table/office desk fiasco. 

It’s a side table with a lid that slides out to create a desk.

Absolutely fabulous idea.

Looks great in the spare bedroom as a side table for the guests to put ‘stuff on’ Which then easily transforms into my office space. 

Pretty cool.

Instructions said it would take 3 hours to assemble.

It took MoD and I, well 3 days.

True story.

After that I vowed I would never buy anything that needed assembling again.

And yet here I am.

A sucker for an Anko product.

Turns out it hasn’t put me off. 

I still love you Anko.

I may even ‘assemble’ a jigsaw next, to keep the brain active and all that…….
