Covid
It’s amazing how you think it hasn’t affected you but it probably has.
Covid.
It’s affected different people, different ways I guess.
Like this whole Hantavirus scare.
Reignited the Covid trauma for lots of people, making them fearful we were about to have another pandemic. Which I guess, we could.
For me, whenever I travel, I never feel ‘relaxed’ until I am sitting on the plane.
And yes, I am travelling again.
This time to Bali, a place I swore I would never venture to.
Not because I don’t think it’s a beautiful place, with beautiful people, but because I was slightly traumatised by the whole Schapelle Corby situation.
Crazy, I know.
MoD says I should leave the surfboard at home.
Yep, different things affect people – different ways.
You may wonder why I am travelling to this beautiful location I said I would never go to.
My friend Smithy, the same Smithy with whom I intended to undertake yoga teacher training with in Aus, but then left the country (so 10 years ago) well, she was going to a yoga retreat.
Staying in a lovely little villa with one of the other 15 yoga teachers attending the event. Until her room mate pulled out.
So she asked me.
A chance to spend some quality time together. Something we have been sadly lacking over the last ten years.
Of course, after discussion with MoD, who is always positive about any new experiences, it was a resounding Yes.
So here I am.
About to embark on a 7 day yoga retreat, complete with 3 hours of daily yoga. Each day beginning at 6.30am.
You may wonder how I will achieve this early hour. After all I have been retired for some time.
But the truth is, I get up at 6ish most mornings to try and fit retirement life into a short 24 hour day.
So the getting up should be ok.
The yoga?
Well I have just attended a 2 week hot yoga studio to acclimatise me not only to yoga itself (I have been sadly lacking with pushing my yoga limits over the last few years), but also adjusting to the heat.
It’s going to be 30 when we arrive.
Wish me luck.
But first to Melbourne to spend time with those I love the most in the world.
