The day started with a lovely outdoor shower with one of our resident geckos.
During the night I counted how many seconds he took between each ‘chirp’.
Is that what they do? Chirp?
For your information it’s 7 seconds.
The poor little guy must be exhausted.
No wonder he needed a warm shower.
Once we made ourselves bewdiful, and to be fair, it’s a no make up situation here, our real day started with a visit to the resort cafe.
Which we finally found after last night wandering around ‘out the back’ for ages only to find a huge yoga space (not ours) and a lovely pool (also not ours).
Belonged to the resort next door.
Lucky we didn’t take a dip.
Honestly it is truly amazing what a walk down the little narrow path from the very busy road will show you.
And the quiet?
Our bungalow is closest to the road but we just can’t hear anything.
Aside from Gerry gecko.
And the birds.
Heavenly sounds actually.
Anyway, here I am rambling again, as I do.
We eventually found the resort cafe serving a beautiful breakfast only to have our serenity ruined by this guy.

Who kept crowing.
As for this family wandering around us…..

Can’t get enough of it. And I’m a city girl.
As we ordered our second coffee for the day….and peeps, they do single shot soy latte here, and do it well.
It truly is heavenly…..
There I go again, anyway, our ummmm, shall I call her, Sensei, arrived.
That would be the beautiful being who is running this show.
I haven’t seen Dagmar since 2012 (she looked the same, thankyou yoga practice), Smithy had never met her.
Dagmar sat down and we had a lovely hour or so getting acquainted, along with another yogi, Suzy, who joined us post her swim in the stunning resort pool.
Dagmar is from Cairns and of course there is a large contingent from Cairns.
Beautiful, welcoming, kind and generous people.
As you expect from yogis.
It really is true about most yogis. I may well be the exception of course.
Post our beautiful breakfast, and maybe a rest on our veranda,

…..we headed down the road to check out an ATM, Supermarket and maybe some shops.
And of course, another meal.
We finally found The Elephant.
And let me tell you friends it was well worth it, not only for the food but also the stunning view.

It’s just across the road from our resort and looks into the gully where there are some amazing walks.
Back to the bungalow for another rest.
It is hard work eating all day you know.
A dip in the pool where we got to meet some other yogis.
Always interesting to meet someone not quite fully clothed as a starting point I say…..
Three amazing and hilarious women, two of British decent and all long term Cairns residents.
Then off to the official retreat start.
4pm to 6pm.
Tri Yoga was my yoga birth mother.
Except for a single level one class with Smithy as my instructor a few years ago, I haven’t done Tri Yoga for ten years.
I forgot how absolutely beautiful the practice was.
I’m definitely excited for the next 7 days.
