As I sat beside the pool, a lovely Balinese lady came and placed an offering, complete with beautiful incense on the pool steps.
In Bali and in Balinese Hindu culture, these small offerings are called canang sari. They’re placed on sidewalks, entrances, shrines, and businesses as daily offerings of gratitude and balance. Respectfully you step over them.

Today’s chakra was the Anahata Chakra – heart chakra. And today, we undertook a little more yoga than previous days.
As we were about to start our practice, I remembered I had left something important in our bungalow, so I duly began the 300m trek back to pick it up.
Along the way, in the rice paddy field, was a local working the area, (at 6.30am bless him), and just up from him was another local, standing on the narrow path and peering into said rice paddy field.
Of course, this could only happen to me.
As I approached, a snake literally jumped out in front of him. He jumped and yelled, I froze, the snake started to come towards me, thought better of it and dived into the other side of the field.
Boy do they move fast.
Maybe not as fast as me on the path back to yoga.
Didn’t really need to do the heart chakra, my heart had received a fairly big restart as it was.
Post yoga and breakfast, we headed down the ‘very busy road’ to get our laundry done.
Then it was off to the resort spa for a massage.
Even though it was twice the price of the one down the road, ($30 instead of $15) it was well worth it.
This afternoon the intention was to head over for a trek along the Ridgewalk (effectively on the other side of the ‘very busy road’), but we found ourselves in the pool instead.

The rest of the day, post our morning yoga was free, therefore the pool became ‘it’ for the day.
We certainly didn’t want to undo the brilliance and the relaxation of that massage.
Except to wander out and pick up the laundry and have dinner.
On your Australian dime, you could actually live like a queen here.
Everything is crazy cheap.
It cost me $1.06 to have my laundry washed and dried.
Dinner tonight, just up the road, two large mains, a herbal tea for Smithy and a cocktail for the local alcoholic $20.74 AUD.

Almost embarrassing.
Lucky I don’t embarrass easily.
We are, after all, doing a fair bit of tipping.
Whilst my wallet is yelling – through cupped hands – “Wahoo, Amazeballs, that’s the way it is here, You go girl!”, my heart is saying, “well that’s just downright embarrassing”. As I said, lucky I don’t embarrass easily.
But I say to myself, “Self, why not put a bigger smile on these beautiful Balinese faces”.
So we do.
Night peeps.
